Introduction
In forestry work, machines first have to make paths to create access to the site, and then there is the entire process of grasping, cutting, shearing, measuring, chopping, dragging, and loading wood. Hitachi realizes that you need highly specialized and reliable equipment for this kind of work.
We have built six types of base machines (ZAXIS/210L/225USRL/240L/280L/350L/380L) that are specially engineered for forestry. In fact, over ten years ago we made the first base machine built in Japan for such work. For forestry tasks, this equipment has the following special features compared to standard excavators (varies by model):
- Heavier counterweight
- Reinforced undercarriage
- Reinforced arm & bucket link
- Increased boom height
- Air cleaner double filter with pre-cleaner
- Electrical switch on pilot lever for front-end attachment

- Cab overhead window with window washer & wiper
